I bought two different mascaras a few months ago. The first is Rimmel London's Day 2 Night Mascara. The mascara is different for the fact that it is a duel mascara but not a double tipped/headed mascara. Both wands are in the same opening.
You can leave the Volume piece attached onto the base of the mascara and twist off the top to get the Length wand. The Volume wand carries alot of mascara on it and makes applying a little bit harder because it is heavier and tends to leave marks on the eyelid. The Length wand however loses alot of the mascara and can provide a nicer, less clumpy application.
I really like using this mascara when I wear eyeliner or more of a dramatic eye. It gives a heavier, thicker look to my eyelashes in two coats. I wouldn't recommend the Rimmel mascara for an everyday wear unless you like the heavier mascara look. Below are pics showing Rimmel London's Day 2 Night Mascara applied to my eyelashes.
The other mascara I purchased was CoverGirl's LashBlast Length Mascara. I love this mascara for an everyday look. It applies on very light and natural, however; I found that it does not hold your natural eyelash curl. I have to use a eyelash curler before applying this mascara for my eyelashes to be more noticable. This mascara has never left my eyelashes looking clumpy and stays put all day in the humidity.
The wand has alot of little sponge spikes to grab all of your eyelashes. The mascara tends not to waste any excess on your lashes during application.
I used the same back and forth technique when applying the mascara to my eyelashes to show the difference in product. I really like both mascaras but tend to wear the CoverGirl LashBlast Length alot more since I don't usually wear alot of makeup during the week.
